Cooking Instructions

At Crowe’s Farm, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality meats, and we want to ensure you get the best cooking experience with our products. Whether you choose to cook your ham on the hob or in the oven, these easy-to-follow methods will help you achieve a tender, flavourful result every time. Simply select your preferred cooking method below and follow the steps for a delicious meal the whole family will enjoy!

  1. Remove meat from packaging 
  2. Place in pot of cold water and place on a medium heat 
  3. Bring to a rolling boil  
  4. Reduce heat to a simmer and simmer for 45mins per kg plus 20 mins over. 
  5. Remove meat from water and allow to cool slightly before removing netting. 
  6. Carve and enjoy 
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C, Gas Mark 4 or 350°F 
  2. Remove meat from packaging 
  3. Place in oven proof dish and pour in enough hot water to come up 20mm on the ham. 
  4. Cover tightly with tin foil or a tight-fitting lid 
  5. Place in oven and allow to steam for 50 mins per kg plus 20 mins over. 
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before removing tin foil or lid. 
  7. Remove meat from water and carefully remove netting. 
  8. Carve and enjoy
